Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Scotland County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Scotland County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Scotland County Sheriff, Circuit Court, Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a third party's criminal-history file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is handled under the selected provider's privacy policy, data-retention rules, and sharing practices. Those choices are beyond this site's control, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to county offices, Missouri agencies, court portals, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own privacy terms control. Those terms should be read before any personal details are submitted.
Advertising providers may also measure activity across websites for targeted advertising. Their systems conduct that tracking under their own policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- Search providers selected by a visitor to process a query
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.

Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, concerns access to government records, while RSMo §43.506 controls dissemination of open criminal-history information by the state repository. Neither turns this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to the law that applies, a visitor may:

- Request correction of inaccurate retained data
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Decline certain processing where an opt-out right applies
